During demining operations carried out by the Agency for Mine Clearance of Territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA), trap mines and surprise mines are regularly encountered, increasing the likelihood of deaths, ANAMA told APA.
“In the Gorgan cemetery of Fuzuli district, it was revealed that an anti-infantry “PMN-Э” mine was placed on a “TM-62M” anti-tank mine and also “TNT” (explosive) was placed between the two mentioned mines with the aim of increasing the explosion power,” the Agency said.
It was stressed that the anti-tank mine containing 7 kgs of explosives was aimed at destroying the equipment: "The anti-tank and anti-infantry mines, as well as the highly explosive trap mine placed on top of each other that was found, were placed with the aim of mass extermination of people.”
