Three years have passed since the establishment of the Lachin border checkpoint.
APA recalls that on April 23, 2023, at 12:00, units of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan established a border checkpoint on the sovereign territories of the country, on the border with Armenia, at the beginning of the Lachin-Khankendi road.
A ceremony of raising the Azerbaijani flag was held at the newly established checkpoint, and a report was presented from the checkpoint to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ilham Aliyev.
The Lachin border checkpoint was established to prevent the transportation of personnel, weapons, ammunition, mines, and other military equipment from Armenia to illegal Armenian armed groups in the territory of Azerbaijan, contrary to the trilateral statement dated November 10, 2020.
As President Ilham Aliyev stated, April 23 signifies the full restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
