The State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons has commented on revealing human remains in Farrukh village, the State Commission told APA.
After the great victory achieved in the Patriotic war, works on determining grave places of our citizens who went missing during the First Karabakh war, and exhumation works are continued. During the next measures carried out in this field, on March 28, 2022, unknown body remains belonging to several people were found in Farrukh heights in the territory of the Khojaly region.
Considering the heavy fighting for the mentioned height during the First Karabakh War and the occupation by the Armenian armed forces, the found body remains are believed to belong to Azerbaijani servicemen. The body remains will be taken from the scene and be delivered accordingly for carrying out the relevant examination.
We would inform you that 62 Azerbaijani servicemen were registered as missing in the battles for Farrukh height in the First Karabakh War (the list is below) in the State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages, and Missing Persons. Besides, according to the information collected by the State Commission, 46 Azerbaijani servicemen went missing in the Pirler village of Khojaly region and Aliaghali village of Aghdam region located Aghdam region located near Farrukh height.
Taking into account the possibility of mass graves on and around Farrukh Heights, a team of specialists is planning to conduct search and exhumation measures in the area. Additional information on the issue will be provided to the public.
