Development and adoption of standards for the forensic recovery of skeletonized, commingled, burned, and fragmented human remains is proposed, this is reflected in the 'Assessment Report of the International Commission on Missing Persons,' APA reports.

The State Commission has a list of approximately 200 locations of possible sites that need to be explored in the search for missing persons. The following points are recommendations to improve procedures in this area:

- Expedite de-mining of the Garabagh territories;

- Conduct desktop research on suspected mass grave locations and areas based on satellite imagery;

- Develop and adopt a standard on forensic recovery of skeletonized, commingled, burned, and fragmented human remains;

-Review and optimize existing field registration forms in accordance with best practices in forensic archaeology;

- Conduct an audit of the excavation workflow especially when handling commingled and fragmented remains to detect potential gaps;

- Develop and implement a strategic plan for training and continuous professional development of excavation team members from both the IAEA and the Forensic Medical Association in forensic archaeology, and Disaster Victim Identification procedures.
