Taking into account the current geopolitical situation, consistent attention to strengthening defense capabilities is of great importance, Prime Minister Ali Asadov said during the presentation of the “Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2025,” APA reports.
It was noted that defense and national security expenditures were increased in the 2025 state budget: “This demonstrates that ensuring our country’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security remains one of the key priorities of state policy. For this purpose, 8.1 billion manats were allocated from the 2025 state budget for defense and national security expenditures — 1.5 billion manats or 23% more compared to 2024.”
He added that military products worth 1.4 billion manats were produced last year and that Azerbaijan currently exports military products to nearly 20 countries.
“Taking into account the current geopolitical conditions, it is extremely important to continue paying consistent attention to preserving the results achieved, strengthening security, increasing defense capabilities, ensuring the inviolability of borders, and protecting national interests,” the Prime Minister said.
