The military industry in Azerbaijan is developing rapidly, and the government has been tasked with establishing an industrial cluster, Prime Minister Ali Asadov said during today’s parliamentary session while discussing the draft law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026”, APA reports.
The Prime Minister noted that one of the main spending directions of the government is to further strengthen security and military-defense potential: “In next year’s state budget, expenditures for defense and national security account for approximately 21% of total budget expenditures (8.7 billion manat). Today, the military industry in Azerbaijan is developing rapidly, and for many years, significant funds have been allocated and attention paid to this sector. We are already exporting military products to many countries. The President has tasked the Government with creating an industrial cluster to meet domestic demand as well as for export. Relevant work in this direction is already underway.
