According to the Protocol of Intent between the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Minister of Defense of the Italian Republic on cooperation in the field of training and education of Naval Forces personnel, commemorative gifts are presented on behalf of the Naval Forces Command to distinguished graduates in both countries’ special military institutions to promote education, Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan told APA.
A "Navy Dirk" and a certificate signed by the Commander of the Azerbaijan Naval Forces were presented to Junior Lieutenant Ricardo Romano, who graduated with distinction from the Naval Academy in Livorno, Italy.
The gift was presented to the Italian officer by a representative of the Military Attaché Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Italy.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the provisions of the Protocol of Intent, an officer who graduates with distinction from the Naval Forces faculty of the Military Institute named after Heydar Aliyev of the National Defense University, is presented with the “Honorary Dirk” on behalf of the Italian Naval Forces Command.
