Military Prosecutor: Numerous criminal cases have been initiated regarding mass graves in liberated territories

“I hope this conference will contribute to determine the location of the body remains of the missing persons,” Military Prosecutor of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Khanlar Valiyev said as he addressed the international conference on "Increasing national and global efforts to clarify the fate of missing persons”, APA reports.

The Military Prosecutor stated that Armenians have raised non-legal territorial claims against Azerbaijan starting from the 80s of the last century, they have violated the norms and principles of the international humanitarian law: “Armenians have taken the military personnel of Azerbaijan and the civil Azerbaijanis who have not directly participated in the battles as hostages, they have subjected them to serious tortures. No information was given regarding their fate yet to this day. After our lands were liberated from occupation, under President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, the fates of the missing persons were kept in focus. Numerous criminal cases have been initiated regarding the mass graves found in liberated territories in the Military Prosecutor's Office.”
