On June 12, a solemn ceremony dedicated to the 54th graduation of cadets of the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski of the National Defense University was held, Ministry of Defense told APA.
The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Defense, the leadership of the university and the lyceum, teachers, cadets, former years' graduates, parents, as well as the public and media representatives.
First, flowers were laid in front of the bust of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and the National Leader museum was visited.
Then, flowers were laid in front of the bust of Jamshid Nakhchivanski located in the territory of the military lyceum.
At the event, the Battle Flag of the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski was solemnly brought to the parade ground.
The memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and Shehids who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was commemorated with a minute of silence. The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan accompanied by a military orchestra was performed.
The Rector of the National Defense University, Major General Gunduz Abdulov, on behalf of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense congratulated the graduates on the occasion of this significant day and wished them success in their further military service.
In accordance with the program of the graduation ceremony, the graduates were presented the Military Lyceum’s badges. A cadet distinguished in studies and discipline attached the graduation emblem to the symbolic stump.
Then, the Battle Flag of the Military Lyceum named after Jamshid Nakhchivanski was handed over to the cadets of the next graduation.
At the end of the event, the cadets performed the Lyceum’s march accompanied by the military orchestra and solemnly marched in front of the grandstand.
