A joint military exercise was held in Istanbul with the participation of officer cadets studying at the academic level of the National Defence Universities (NDU) of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, APA reports citing the Ministry of Defense.
From the Azerbaijani side, a group of officers and the teaching-professorial staff of the Operational-Tactical Faculty of the Military Administration Institute took part in the exercise.
The objective of the exercise was to enhance officers’ decision-making skills in relevant positions during joint operations, plan the use of modern weapon systems in military operations and methods to counter them, as well as to conduct mutual experience exchange.
During the “Distinguished Visitors Day” of the joint military exercise, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Türkiye, Army General Metin Gürak, the Commander of the 1st Army, Army General Metin Tokel, Rector of the National Defence University of Türkiye, Professor Erhan Afyoncu, and from the Azerbaijani side, Rector of the Military Administration Institute, Colonel Elnur Alasgarli, along with other officials attended the event.
The results of the exercise, including the joint activities of the participants, were highly evaluated by the assessment team and observers.
