The members of the illegal Armenian armed group fired at the positions of the Azerbaijani Army in the direction of Gapanli village of Tartar district from the Azerbaijani territory, in which the Russian peacekeepers are temporarily stationed, from 00:23 till 02:12 (GMT+4) on February 6, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry told APA.
According to Ministry, the Azerbaijani Army units responded immediately.
"As a result of the incident, no civilians or personnel of our units were injured. When our positions came under fire, a civilian building in the territory of Gapanli settlement was shot. We observed that members of the illegal Armenian armed group opened fire under the influence of alcohol. The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and the Russian-Turkish Joint Monitoring Center was immediately informed about the incident," said the Ministry.
