At the invitation of the head of the State Border Service, Colonel-General Elchin Guliyev, a delegation led by the Deputy Chairman of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan - Commander of the Border Troops, Major General Salimjon Khusanov, paid an official visit to Azerbaijan on December 13-15 of this year, the press service of State Border Service told APA.
Within the framework of the visit, a meeting was held between the delegations of the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Border Troops of the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The sides stressed that over the past period the relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan are successfully developing in all fields, including border security.
At the meeting, preparations were expressed to develop cooperation and exchange experience on threats to border security, including international terrorism, smuggling, illegal migration, the fight against illegal drug trafficking, as well as other issues of mutual interest.
