Defense Ministers of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia held a trilateral meeting-UPDATED

On December 21, the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Minister of National Defense of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Hulusi Akar, and the Minister of Defense of Georgia, Mr. Juansher Burchuladze, held a trilateral meeting in Türkiye, APA reports citing ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan.

At the meeting, the Defense Ministers of three countries discussed the current military-political situation in the region, prospects for the development of military cooperation in a trilateral format, the conduct of joint bilateral and trilateral exercises, as well as issues of ensuring the security of regional projects.

In the end, a press conference was held for the media representatives.

"We were together with Azerbaijan on both sad and happy days. We did our best in the Patriotic war of Azerbaijan," said Turkiye's Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar at the press conference on the results of the trilateral meeting of the Azerbaijani, Turkish and Georgian Defense Ministers held in Kayseri, APA's Istanbul bureau reports.

He also added that Georgia is a friendly and important regional state for Turkiye and Azerbaijan.

According to him, the parties discussed all development and cooperation prospects for the South Caucasus and the region: 'We have come a long way in the field of military cooperation and we are seeing the results. We want Armenia to hold the hand of peace and friendship extended by Azerbaijan and Turkiye, to avoid provocations and aim at the negotiations".
