Regional security challenges were discussed during the meeting between Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov and his Georgian counterpart Juansher Burchuladze, APA's Tbilisi correspondent reports citing the Ministry of Defense of Georgia.
Reported that during the conversation, attention was paid to the dynamics of high-level bilateral visits. It was noted that these visits confirm that the parties are ready to strengthen cooperation for the benefit of both countries and the region.
During the meeting, the ministers also discussed current issues and future plans of bilateral cooperation in the field of defense, including participation in international exercises and military training programs.
During the conversation, the Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Georgia trilateral cooperation format was also touched upon. It was noted that strategic level meetings, cooperation in the field of defense, joint exercises and meetings of experts strengthen the mutual operational capability between the countries.
At the end of the meeting, Juansher Burchuladze invited Zakir Hasanov to the event to be held in Tbilisi on the occasion of Georgia's Independence Day on May 26.
It was noted that before the official meeting, Minister Juansher Burchuladze visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor and laid a wreath in front of the monument.
