A sectoral meeting on cybersecurity in the defense sector was held under the organization of the Azerbaijan Cybersecurity Organizations Association (ACOA) within the framework of the 6th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition “ADEX 2026” and the 15th International Security Exhibition “Securex Caspian,” APA reports.
Current areas of cybersecurity in the defense sector, digital risks, combating cyber threats and developing cooperation between relevant institutions were discussed.
ACOA Executive Director Rauf Jabarov touched upon the importance of public-private cooperation in the field of cybersecurity and emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation and the exchange of experience between relevant state institutions and the private sector.
Major General Davud Rustamov, Head of the Cybersecurity Operations Center of the State Security Service, noted that cyber threats are also increasing in parallel with the development of digital transformation.
Elshan Hasanov, Head of the Cybersecurity Department of the Ministry of Defense, emphasized that cybersecurity has already become an issue of national importance. Speaking about the importance of cooperation and joint activities in the field of cybersecurity, he noted that special attention was also paid to cybersecurity issues within the framework of military exercises held in 2026.
The speeches reviewed digital risks, cyber defense capabilities and international trends in the defense sector. An exchange of views was held on potential cyber threats in the defense sector, digital risk management and the protection of critical information systems.
