Chief of General Staff of Iran: "Liberation of Azerbaijan’s occupied territories caused joy of Supreme Leader"

"To develop relations with neighboring countries and opposing any kind of aggression is the basis of Iran's foreign policy," Chief of the General Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, Mohammad Bagheri said at a meeting with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, APA's Tehran bureau reports.

He said that Iran and Azerbaijan are close in terms of history, religion, language, and faith and have strong ties.

“I hope that your visit will create a favorable opportunity for strengthening, developing relations, especially in the military, technical, and defense fields, between two countries. We are always satisfied with seeing the Azerbaijani brothers. Because people of Iran feel fraternal people of Azerbaijan closer to themselves.

M. Bagheri has stressed that liberation of Azerbaijan’s occupied territories after many years caused joy of the Supreme Leader of Iran and people of Iran.

"We are as sensitive to the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan as we are to the territorial integrity of our country," noted the Iranian general.
