Great Britain is assisting Azerbaijan in cleaning up areas contaminated by mines and explosives and ensuring people's safety, the Embassy of Great Britain in Azerbaijan wrote on Twitter, APA reports.
It was noted that the British government once again cooperates with the UNICEF Representation in Azerbaijan to educate the population about landmines.
“British government makes next donation to the UNICEF to increase awareness on landmines. We want that IDPs returning to their homes to understand the threat of mine and explosive substances,” British Ambassador to Azerbaijan Fergus Auld said in his speech in the video released by the embassy.
William Abi Abdallah, the deputy head of the UNICEF Representation in Azerbaijan, said that last year, due to the donation of Great Britain, signs were prepared to help children stay out of dangerous areas contaminated with explosives, as well as information, education, and communication materials.
