Baku handed over bodies of 173 Armenian servicemen back to Yerevan after antiterror measures

After the antiterror operation, Azerbaijan handed over the bodies of 173 people to Armenia, says the information released by Azerbaijan's State Commission for Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons, APA reports.

According to the information, guided by the norms of International humanitarian law and relevant provisions of the tripartite Declaration signed on November 10, 2020, the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the close participation of the Russian peacekeeping contingent and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), created the comprehensive condition to Armenian side to carry out search operations in areas where military operations were held.

As a result, the corpses of the 1713 people after the 44-day war, 157 people from the military conflict on the Armenian-Azerbaijani conventional border on September 12-14, 2022, and 173 people after the anti-terrorist operation on September 19-20, 2023 were found and handed over to Armenia.
