Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry officers visit National Hero Polad Hashimov's grave

On January 2, a group of officers from the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan, participants of the Patriotic War, and the family members of National Hero of Azerbaijan, Major General Polad Hashimov, visited his grave on his birthday, the Ministry of Defense told APA.

Polad Hashimov rose to the rank of "Major General" by faithfully fulfilling his orders and missions entrusted to him in the combat zones for the defense of our homeland.

Major General Polad Hashimov was martyred on July 14, 2020, while heroically repelling enemy attack attempts and provocations near the Tovuz district. By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on December 9, 2020, Major General Hashimov was posthumously awarded the title of "National Hero of Azerbaijan."

During the memorial ceremony, flower bouquets were laid at the national hero's grave on behalf of the Ministry of Defense leadership, and his memory was honored with respect and reverence.
