Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov met with Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, on October 2, APA reports.
According to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Defense, during the meeting held in Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, it was noted that the brotherly and strategic allied relations between the two countries are developing dynamically in all areas, including the military sphere.
Particular attention was drawn to the fact that the expansion of the scale of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye remains under the constant attention of the heads of state.
The defense ministers emphasized the importance of the “Unity Strength-2026” joint military exercise involving servicemen of the two countries, as well as meetings of this kind, and expressed confidence that the partnership would continue successfully in the future.
During the bilateral meeting, the sides discussed cooperation in the military, military-technical and military education fields, as well as regional security and ways to ensure sustainable peace in the region.

A trilateral meeting of the defense ministers of Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Georgia is being held in Shusha today, APA reports.
Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense announced this in a post on X.
It said that ahead of the trilateral meeting, Turkish National Defense Minister Yasar Guler and Azerbaijani Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov held a bilateral meeting.
