The delegation led by Hulusi Akar, the Chairman of Defence Committee of Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, who’s on visit to Tbilisi, met with Georgia’s Minister of Defence Irakli Chikovani, APA’s Tbilisi correspondent reports citing Georgian MoD.
It was noted that the defence minister Irakli Chikovani noted that effective cooperation between Georgia and Türkiye is a prerequisite for regional peace and stability, special attention was focused on the importance of strategic cooperation in this context.
According to Georgia’s Defence Ministry, the parties also discussed trilateral military cooperation between Azerbaijan, Türkiye and Georgia. It was noted that the purpose of this tripartite cooperation is to strengthen regional security. Irakli Chikovani noted that Georgia will host a tripartite meeting of Azerbaijan-Türkiye-Georgia defense ministers this year.
