"Mine clearance activity requires a global response," said Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev at the international conference on humanitarian mine clearance activity, APA reports.
Assistant to President noted that the government of Azerbaijan takes resolute steps in the field of mine clearance.
According to him, Azerbaijan has faced a mine problem, which is one of the most difficult problems after conflict: "Our territories, liberated from occupation, are considered territories, which are mostly-contaminated with mine at the global level. Millions of mines have been planted in these territories. The government of Azerbaijan responded to such destructive steps with renovation. Our main priority is to save more people, to provide clearance of these lands from mines and safe living of our citizens."
