Azerbaijan restored over 571 km of roads in liberated territories last year

Special attention was also paid to mobilization preparedness in 2025, and significant steps were taken to improve the quality of mobilization reserves, APA reports.

This was stated at the board meeting of the Ministry of Defense dedicated to the results of 2025.

It was noted that in 2025, the knowledge and skills of more than 19,000 reservists of various specialties involved in training sessions were improved. They were instructed on the use of newly commissioned weapons and equipment, and practical exercises were conducted. It was emphasized that efforts in this direction will continue in 2026 as well.

The engineering and fortification measures carried out in the liberated territories, the construction of new roads, as well as the work undertaken to establish military infrastructure were brought to the attention of the board members. It was reported that in 2025, nearly 79 km of new roads were constructed jointly by engineering and fortification units and other state bodies, around 67 km of roads were cleared of snow, and more than 571 km of roads were restored.
