Azerbaijan and Turkey expand military cooperation-VIDEO-UPDATED

On February 1, The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, who is on a working visit to Turkey, met with the Minister of National Defense of the brotherly country, Mr. Hulusi Akar, APA reports, citing the Defense Ministry.

According to the information, a solemn welcoming ceremony was held before the meeting, the defense ministers of the two countries passed in front of the guard of honor, and the national anthems were performed.

Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov signed the book of honor.

Then a meeting was held with the participation of delegations.

At the working meetings, the sides discussed regional security, as well as prospects for the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkey in military, military-technical, military education, and other fields.

Turkish defense minister greeting the guests noted that the strategic alliance between Azerbaijan and Turkey has been built on friendly and brotherly relations. Akar expressed confidence that cooperation based on mutual trust, confidence, and support will continue to develop successfully.

Colonel General Zakir Hasanov has expressed his gratitude for the moral and political support of brotherly Turkey in the Patriotic war. The Azerbaijani defense minister has specially mentioned the exceptional impact of the sincere relations of the heads of states of two brotherly countries on the military cooperation, as being on the other fields.

Touching upon the importance of the experience gained by our servicemen in joint exercises, the parties noted the importance of holding such events on a regular basis.

This is one of the main factors ensuring stability in the region.
