ANAMA: There are 49,483 mines within radius of 2 kilometers in Agdam

“7 villages of Aghdam are on the former contact line. There are 49,483 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines within a radius of 2 kilometers across the region,” said the Head of the Cleaning and Research Department of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) Idris Ismayilov, APA reports.

According to him, in order to ensure a safe life these areas should be demined. It was also noted that grazing areas in Aghdam have not been determined yet.

ANAMA employee noted that 64 mine accidents occurred in Aghdam alone.
