Landmines and unexploded ordnance clearance have been started in the liberated areas after the anti-terrorist operations, said Vugar Suleymanov, Chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) at the briefing held on the occasion of April 4 - International Day of Mine Awareness and Assistance in Mine Action, APA reports.
ANAMA chair said that certain projects are being implemented in those areas: "During the initial inspection, we discovered a large number of landmines in various places, on bridges, on roads. We started joint operations there with all government agencies. We are currently working in several residential areas. Currently, this activity continues in Khojaly, Karkijahan, Malibayli, and Khankandi."
