“Mine action is very broad, it includes working with victims as well,” said Bahruz Mammadov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Azerbaijani National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) during discussion of the draft law "On demining" at the meeting of the Defence, Security and Counter-Corruption Committee of Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani parliament) held today, APA reports.
He said that issues related to quality control will be determined by the central executive authority: "Mining in liberated territories was carried out in very irregular conditions. Therefore, it is not possible to estimate the mine contamination there. We fence the areas of high pollution, here we are talking about 250 hectares.”
