It is planned to clear more than 65,000 hectares of land from mines in 2026, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov during the presentation of the “Report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2025,” APA reports.
“Extensive demining operations continue in the liberated territories. In 2025, 69.2 thousand hectares were cleared, and in total, since 2020, nearly 249 thousand hectares of land in the liberated territories have been cleared of mines and unexploded ordnance, with the total number of discovered mines and UXO reaching 237,000. This constitutes one-third of the mine-contaminated territories. In 2026, it is planned to clear more than 65 thousand hectares of land from mines,” the Prime Minister noted.
