“The Media Content Production Center in Uzbekistan is implementing several projects aimed at developing the media sector and expanding cooperation with Azerbaijan," Jahongir Abdurakhmanov, Deputy Director of the Media Content Production Center operating under the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, told APA.

He noted that the Center, which will soon mark one year since the start of its activities, was established at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan. According to the Deputy Director, the main purpose of the institution is not to regulate the media sector, but to stimulate its development and support the production of high-quality and objective content.

He emphasized that one of the Center’s areas of activity is promoting Uzbekistan internationally, including in Azerbaijan: “We have a large number of joint projects with our Azerbaijani colleagues. These cover television, joint filming and cinema.”

The Center’s Deputy Director noted that a film about traveling to Uzbekistan is currently being produced jointly with Azerbaijan, and some scenes of the film are planned to be shot in Azerbaijan.

He also said that cooperation in the media sector continues within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States, and that there are agreements on the exchange of experience between Uzbekistan’s media development body and the relevant Azerbaijani institutions.

Abdurakhmanov also described the current media tour involving Azerbaijani journalists as an example of cooperation between the two countries. According to him, the main purpose of the visit is to inform the Azerbaijani public about the changes that have taken place in Uzbekistan over the past 10 years, new facilities, industrial sectors and areas of development.

“We want our Azerbaijani colleagues to visit Uzbekistan not only within the framework of political events, but also specifically to see the changes in our country, new industrial sectors, facilities and places,” he said.

The Center’s Deputy Director added that the media tour makes it possible to provide the Azerbaijani public with broader information about the development of modern Uzbekistan and the achievements it has made over the past 10 years.
