Today, the opening of the 1st Baku Book Fair took place at the Baku Sports Hall, APA reports.

The exhibition, organized by the Ministry of Culture and the "Azerbaijan Publishers Association" Public Union (ANAIB), was attended by public and political figures, literary people, and publishers.

The Chairman of the Board of ANAİB, Doctor of Philology Shamil Sadig noted that over 30 publishing houses participated in the exhibition with their own stands, which means the participation of tens of thousands of books and more than 100 Azerbaijani writers.

Note that the event, which will run from December 19 to 22, will be held under the slogan "New Year with New Books." In addition to the publishing houses that are members of the Azerbaijan Publishers Association (ANAİB), other publishing houses will also participate and present their books.

At the 1st Baku Book Fair, which will be held in a New Year atmosphere, thousands of books will be offered with discounts of up to 90%. There will be book signing events with dozens of writers and poets, meetings with celebrities, poetry sessions, and storytelling hours for children. Additionally, reading hours and small performances for children are planned in the exhibition hall.
