The opening ceremony of the 11th Baku International Book Fair was held at the Baku Expo Center, APA reports.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, the fair currently features 123 local Azerbaijani companies as well as 68 foreign companies from 23 countries.
Among the participating countries are major book markets such as Türkiye and Russia.
More than 250 events are planned as part of the fair. The participation of world-renowned writers and scholars is expected.
Meetings with both young and established authors will be held, and events dedicated to the works of prominent writers will be organized. This year’s guest of honor is the State of Qatar.
The fair will continue until October 7.
