The event began with the playing of the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Lithuania.
Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Kestutis Vaškelevičius and Secretary of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union Salim Babullaoğlu delivered speeches, emphasizing that such events make an important contribution to helping peoples understand each other better.
Family members of Mikayil Mushfig noted the role of such events in educating the younger generation.
Speakers noted that the peoples of Azerbaijan and Lithuania have experienced similar destinies throughout history, particularly facing the severe consequences of political repression in the 20th century.
