A criminal case against the well-known Russian writer Boris Akunin (real name Grigory Chkhartishvili) has been sent to court, APA’s Moscow bureau reports citing the Investigative Committee of Russia.
It was stated that the writer declared the necessity of violently changing the constitutional order of the Russian Federation and justified Ukraine's terrorist activities.
“Grigory Chkhartishvili was found guilty twice in 2024 by the court for violating the procedure related to the activities of a foreign agent. Nevertheless, he continued to violate the restrictions imposed on foreign agents, disregarding Russian legislation,” the statement released by the Investigative Committee said.
Note that Akunin has been recognized as a foreign agent in the Russian Federation and has been included in the list of terrorists and extremists.
