The 2025 Booker Prize shortlist has been announced, featuring Kiran Desai’s much-anticipated return with 'The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny', APA reports, citing TN.
Alongside her are Susan Choi, Katie Kitamura, Ben Markovits, Andrew Miller and David Szalay, in a line-up that blends ambition, diversity, continuity and renewal within contemporary fiction.
Nearly twenty years after receiving the Booker Prize for 'The Inheritance of Loss', Kiran Desai finds herself back in the spotlight. Her latest novel, 'The Loneliness of Sonia and Sunny', has secured a place on the 2025 Booker Prize shortlist, a line-up that showcases the ambition and diversity of contemporary fiction.
The winning book for 2025 will be announced on November 10 at a ceremony at Old Billingsgate in London, with the winner receiving GBP 50,000. The six shortlisted authors will each receive GBP 2,500 and a specially bound edition of their book.
