The 53rd meeting of the Permanent Joint Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran on the use of water and energy resources of the Araz river was held at Iran's city of Tabriz, APA reports.
The meeting, led by Co-Chair of Azerbaijan-Iran Joint Commission, representative of Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency Zakir Guliyev, was attended by the representatives of the Agency, Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and the relevant organizations of Nakhchivan AR.
A number of issues were discussed at the meeting. The working mode of the Araz Reservoir and the distribution of water between Azerbaijan and Iran were determined, the relevant distribution tables for the joint use of water and energy resources in the Araz river were prepared, and the Protocol was signed.
