In January-September 2026, services worth 12,816.6 million manats were provided in the transport and warehousing sector, up 10% in real terms compared with the corresponding period last year, the State Statistical Committee said, APA-Economics reports.
According to the information, 7,652.2 million manats (59.7%) of the services accounted for freight transportation, 3,495.5 million manats (27.3%) for passenger transportation, and 1,668.9 million manats (13%) for warehousing and postal services.
A total of 183.1 million tons of cargo were transported in the transport sector, which is 3.0% more compared with the same period last year. Of the cargo, 63.5% was transported by road, 25.1% by pipeline, 7.6% by rail, 3.6% by sea, and 0.2% by air.
During the reporting period, 1,771.3 million passengers were transported, which is 9.7% more compared with the same period last year. Of the passengers, 90.5% were transported by road, 8.8% by metro, and the remaining share by other modes of transport.
