Azerbaijan plans to clear 60,000 ha land from mine in 2024 - Prime Minister

In order to carry out large-scale projects, a total of 53.1 thousand hectares of land were cleared of mines in 2023 by the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action and state and non-state institutions involved in demining operations, said Prime Minister Ali Asadov, who presented the report on the activities of the Cabinet of Ministers in 2023 at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis, APA reports.

The Prime Minister said that by March 1, 2024, more than 123,000 hectares had been cleared and 114,730 mines and unexploded ordnance had been found.

"In 2024, it is planned to clear 60,000 hectares of land from mines," the Prime Minister underscored.
