Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), part of AZCON Holding, has operated its first flight to Aktobe, Kazakhstan, adding the city to its route network. With the launch of the new route, the number of cities served by the airline in Kazakhstan has reached six, the Press Service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC told APA-Economics.
Regular flights on the Baku–Aktobe–Baku route are operated three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
The direct flights will contribute to the development of business ties and tourism exchanges between the two countries and facilitate mutual travel.
Aktobe, located in western Kazakhstan, is one of the country's major industrial and economic centers. The region is known for its rich historical and cultural heritage, as well as its distinctive natural landmarks.
The Aktobe region is home to the famous Aktolagay chalk mountains, the Barkhyn sands, the Kargaly reservoir, and numerous historical and sacred sites. The destination offers a convenient option for both business travelers and passengers interested in exploring the culture, history, and nature of western Kazakhstan.
The launch of flights to Aktobe, following the introduction of services to Shymkent and Atyrau earlier this year, marks another step in the national carrier's expansion of its route network in Central Asia.
The new flights also provide passengers traveling from Kazakhstan with access to the airline's other international destinations via Baku.
Tickets can be purchased through Azerbaijan Airlines' official website or mobile application, as well as its sales offices and accredited agencies.
