Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC (AZD) Rovshan Rustamov and Chairman of Kazakhstan Railways JSC (KTZ) Nurlan Sauranbayev, with the participation of the heads of state of both countries, took part in a teleconference organized on the occasion of the arrival in Baku along the Middle Corridor of a container train traveling to direction China-Kazakhstan-Azerbaijan, Azerbaijan Railways told APA-Economics.
It was noted that the dispatch of a container train by the Transport and Logistics Center of Kazakhstan, commissioned in the Chinese city of Xi’an, is of great importance for all participants in the Middle Corridor.
The train, consisting of 61 containers, covered 7,000 km (Kazakh terminal in Xi'an - Aktau - Absheron station) in 11 days. During multimodal transportation, containers were reloaded at the port of Kazakhstan and delivered through the Caspian Sea to the Baku International Sea Trade Port, and from there to the Absheron station.
