According to the reached agreement, sending imported products to Azerbaijan by 7 block trains and transit goods to Europe by 2 block trains is planned in January of this year in the direction of increasing the volume of cargo and the transportation of Chinese origin goods through the Middle Corridor, Azerbaijan Railways LLC told APA-Economics.
According to the information, importing Chinese origin goods to Azerbaijan, as well as the return of transit goods to the Middle Corridor will create great opportunities for the development of local entrepreneurship and for the attraction of new goods to the corridor.
Azerbaijan Railways LLC has created a joint enterprise called Middle Corridor Multimodal Ltd. on a parity basis with Kazakhstan Railway JSC and Georgian Railway JSC in 2023, in the direction of increasing the volume of cargo transportation along the Middle Corridor and attract new cargo.
The joint enterprise will create wide range of opportunity to provide services on the "one-stop" principle, to guarantee the delivery time of goods, and to implement an agreed policy on the development of multimodal service in the direction of China-Europe/Türkiye-China.
