Azerbaijan to present data required for its national satellite to International Telecommunication Union this week

Baku. Ilhama Isabalayeva-APA-Economics. Azerbaijan has finished preparation of technical data required by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for its planned orbital position, Gulam Abdullayev, head advisor of the department for coordinating the activity of government establishments of Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies told APA-Economics. Gulam Abdullayev said that the data will be presented to ITU this week. The data, which have been prepared taking into account Azerbaijan’s prospects for the next 10 years, reflect coverage of Azerbaijan’s satellite, number of TV, Internet and phone channels and kinds of services. Azerbaijan expressed its wish to cover the entire Europe, half of Asia including a great part of Kazakhstan. It is expected that ITU will consider the issue on the planned orbital position and give answer to Azerbaijan late in October and early in November.
The implementation of the projects on launching satellites cost $100mln. – 160mln. in the world.
