The State Security Service (SSS) has once again issued a warning regarding instances of cyber-fraud involving artificial intelligence, Press Service of SSS told APA.
Organized cyber-criminal networks operating from outside the country have recently been observed continuing to launch new and sophisticated cyber-attacks by leveraging the capabilities of artificial intelligence technologies.
Analyses indicate that certain groups are targeting civil servants, employees of various enterprises and organizations, and ordinary citizens by utilizing artificial intelligence algorithms and specialized software. Despite numerous warnings and awareness-raising initiatives, it is notable that some citizens still fall victim to such fraudulent schemes.
Cybercriminals send messages described as "urgent" and "important" to targeted individuals based on carefully crafted scenarios; they then deceive victims by directing them to fake accounts posing as law enforcement agencies or other official institutions. Through these methods, they demand that individuals transfer funds to foreign accounts or carry out various illegal tasks.
Emphasizing the importance of being extremely cautious and vigilant in the digital environment, citizens are requested to immediately notify law enforcement agencies if they encounter any suspicious inquiries, requests, or messages," the statement reads.
