The trial of the criminal case of Zarifa Abbasova, who was the accountant of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan was held, APA reports.
In the process presided over by Judge Ahmad Guliyev at the Baku Court on Grave Crimes, the accused was remanded in custody. A search warrant was issued for the accused person as she did not attend the court.
Note that the decision was taken because the accused person did not attend the court during the last 3 court proceedings
The indictment shows that during her tenure from March 1 2008 to January 18 2023 as the accountant of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Azerbaijan, Z. Abbasova obtained the signature and stamp of the Head of Delegation Peter Michalko and other persons to embezzle the money transferred to the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan.
She was charged with Articles 179.4, 308.2, and 313 of the Criminal Code.
