A total of 2,546 road traffic accidents were recorded last year within the coverage area of video surveillance cameras installed on the capital’s roads, APA reports, citing the Transport Intelligent Management Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“An analysis of these accidents showed that the main causes are speeding, running a red light, failure to keep a safe distance, violating road sign requirements, and driver inattention. The incidents mostly occurred on central streets and avenues with heavy traffic, including Ziya Bunyadov, Heydar Aliyev, Babek, 8 November, and Tbilisi avenues, as well as on the Baku-Sumgayit, Airport, and Sabunchu-Zabrat highways and other roads,” the information noted.
