"38 people died as a result of crash of AZAL aircraft en route Baku-Grozny in Aktau," said Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Head of Commission investigating the crash Kanat Bozumbaev at a press briefing, APA reports.
It has been noted that there were 67 people on board the plane, including 5 crew members and 62 passengers. As a result of the accident, 38 people lost their lives, while 29 survived. The survivors were hospitalized with various injuries. Among the injured, some are in serious condition.
It has also been noted in press conference that 37 of the plane's passengers were Azerbaijanis (23 died), 16 Russians (7 died), 6 Kazakhs (all died), and 3 Kyrgyz citizens (all survived).
2 of the 5 crew members died and 3 survived.
