"Immediately after the crash of the passenger plane belonging to Azerbaijan Airlines, in line with the instructions of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, a team of experienced psychologists, doctors, and rescuers from the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES), equipped with necessary tools, arrived in Aktau city on the MES BE-200 CS amphibious aircraft," a doctor of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Emergency Situations' medical service, Nigar Panahova, told APA.
She noted that the psychological support team from the ministry provided urgent psychological assistance to the victims, while doctors carried out medical interventions when necessary: "Additionally, the MES rescuers are conducting relevant work at the crash site."
She mentioned that a total of 29 people were injured: "27 people have been admitted to the Mangistau Regional Hospital. Of them, 11 are in the intensive care unit, and the condition of 3 is assessed as critical. The other injured individuals have sustained moderate to mild injuries. Necessary medical assistance is being provided here."
