The bodies of 18 out of 20 soldiers who died in the crash of a Turkish C-130 aircraft in Georgia have been recovered, APA reports, citing Georgia’s Interior Minister Gela Geladze.
According to the minister, search efforts for the remaining two soldiers are ongoing. Geladze also noted that the bodies of four soldiers were found in the aircraft’s cockpit.
The minister said that he is in constant contact with his Turkish counterpart.
"We have established an international investigation team. Our Turkish colleagues are also part of the group. Since the aircraft is for military purposes, we will provide detailed information in stages in consultation with the Turkish side," Geladze added.
Yesterday, a Turkish C-130 military transport aircraft en route from Azerbaijan to Türkiye crashed in Georgian territory. All 20 soldiers on board were killed as a result of the accident.
