A person with the pseudonym "Abu Malik", who handed over Azerbaijani citizens to foreign special services for cooperation and participated in organizing the arrest of those who did not cooperate in that foreign country, has been identified and detained, APA reports.

This was revealed from the materials of the court hearing held on July 18.

Thus, as a result of anti-terrorist measures carried out by the State Security Service (SSS), it was revealed that the person who had been cooperating with foreign special services under the pseudonym "Abu Malik" since September 2022 was Azerbaijani citizen Mahammad Shirin Aliyev.

Mahammad Aliyev, who committed these acts in a foreign country, was captured by the State Security Service during operational-investigative measures and brought to trial in Azerbaijan.

It turns out that Mahammad Aliyev, who tried to form a terrorist-subversive group around himself consisting of individuals inclined to a radical religious sect and trapped Azerbaijani citizens for this, himself fell into the trap set by operatives of the State Security Service.

In the criminal case currently ongoing at the State Security Service, Mahammad Aliyev was charged under Article 274 (high treason) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and was sentenced to 4 months of pre-trial detention by the decision of the Sabail District Court.
