Punishments for violation of legislation on the prevention of domestic violence are being tightened in Azerbaijan, administrative arrest will be applied, it was reflected in the amendment to the Code of Administrative Offenses approved by President Ilham Aliyev, APA reports.
According to the amendment, fine amounting to AZN five hundred to seven hundred is applied for repeated offenses within one year from the date of entry into force of the decision on administrative punishment in cases of applying illegal restrictions of an economic nature on domestic grounds, it is, actions aimed at depriving another person of the property and income owned, disposed or used by a person, creating economic dependence, maintaining such dependence or abuse, as well as intentional mental pressure by a person on another person or actions aimed at creating intolerable mental conditions. Or depending on the circumstances of the case, taking into consideration the identity of the offender, from sixty to one hundred hours of community service or up to fifteen days of administrative detention will be applied.
In addition, liability is determined for not giving a written warning to the perpetrator of domestic violence not to repeat the domestic violence or for not issuing a short-term protection order to the victim.
For this, officials will be fined from AZN three hundred to five hundred.
