After the crash, Russia and Kazakhstan proposed that the incident be investigated by the Interstate Aviation Committee of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), (The Interstate Aviation Committee was established in December 1991 based on an interstate agreement on civil aviation and airspace use among 12 newly independent states), APA reports.

According to information obtained by APA from government sources, Azerbaijan has rejected this proposal.

Official Baku demands that the investigation be conducted by a group of international experts and specialists from Embraer.

Azerbaijan believes that the reading of the "black boxes" should also be carried out by this group.

Note that on December 25, an Azerbaijani Airlines (AZAL) passenger plane operating the Baku-Grozny flight crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan. The plane had 62 passengers and 5 crew members on board.

As a result of the crash, 38 people lost their lives, and 29 survived.
